Description

This seminar examines the psychological and neural mechanisms for conscious and unconscious information processing. The role of consciousness and evidence for unconscious processing in perception, priming, pain, emotion, problem solving and decision making, and actions, motor control, and intentions will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on neuropsychological evidence of unconscious processing from patients with neglect, blindsight, anosognosia, split-brains, individuals under anesthesia, and persistent vegetative states.
