Description

This is the first in a two-sequence Research Methods sequence for researchers training to do Human Developmental Psychology inquiry. Developmental researchers must be able to address the complex range of theoretical follows from Research Methods in Human Dev I and continues to advance students' knowledge pertaining to theory-based research design and methodology in developmental psychology. Accordingly evaluations will be based on activities resembling those employed as a working developmental researcher. This goal will be accomplished through various methods including (but not limited to) a review of research design, sampling and measurement issues; critiquing the research literature; addressing ethical considerations associated with the research process; and a hands-on review of research writing and the journal publication process. Student will be expected to begin to identify a research question and come up with a workable research design to answer the question.
