Description
This course will introduce students to thinking about adolescent psychotherapy from a developmental perspective. The course will incorporate contemporary psychoanalytic perspective as well as contributions from developmental, cognitive and social psychology. Additionally, the perspectives of adolescents typically under-represented in the literature will be discussed. In the last six classes, we will explore the "nuts and bolts" of psychotherapy with adolescents and briefly examine psychopathologies that emerge in adolescence.
