Department(s)

Description

This course is designed to introduce the first year student to the research interests and methods of several Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience faculty laboratories. For students who have expressed an initial interest in a specific laboratory, the rotation can serve as an opportunity to explore the fit on both the research topic and the mentor. For students who are uncertain as to the direction they wish to pursue, it provides an opportunity for exploration prior to the selection of a Dissertation director. Based upon their mutual interests, student and laboratory director will select a research problem and/or method and design a training program that will be the focus of the rotation. This may include specific readings, laboratory meetings and written reports that will involve analysis and interpretation of research data.
