This course will examine current research in the area of speech perception in bilingual listeners with hearing loss. The theoretical models of speech perception in bilinguals and theoretical models of speech perception in listeners with hearing loss will be examined and implications for the combination of hearing loss and bilingualism will be discussed.The goal of this course is to become familiar with the historical, theoretical and practical issues in this area of research in order to develop important and well-designed research project proposals.
