Course Title

Non-linear Optics

Department(s)

Description

The course in nonlinear optics introduces students to the most fundamental concepts of light propagation in the medium with nonlinear optical response. The course covers definition and properties of nonlinear susceptibility, including quantum-mechanical approaches to its calculations, and deals with most common nonlinear optical processes such as higher harmonics generation, sum and difference frequency generations, parametric amplification, and optical parametric oscillators.
