Department(s)

Description

This course explores critical approaches to educational technology in multiple contexts. WE will apply lessons and theories from the digital humanities to the exploration, including how to evaluate software from a range of perspectives, how to envision and scope digital projects, and how to think through the pedagogical and ethical implications of digital policy making, infrastructure building, and tool selection. Students will gain experience thinking as critical educational technologists who must balance expertise and deference, project management and institutional politics, and evangelism and community building. Students will also have opportunities to translate the lessons of the course to the professional contexts in which they imagine themselves working.
