Description
This course explores critical approaches to educational technology in multiplecontexts. We will apply lessons and theories from the digital humanities to thisexploration, including how to evaluate software from a range of perspectives, howto envision and scope digital projects, and how to think through thepedagogical and ethical implications of digital policy making, infrastructurebuilding, and tool selection. Students will gain experience thinking ascritical educational technologists who must balance expertise and deference, project management and institutional politics, and evangelism and communitybuilding. Students will also have opportunities to translate the lessons of thecourse to the professional contexts in which they imagine themselvesworking.
