Department(s)

Description

This course will examine the three mechanisms – writing, teaching and public speaking – through which academic knowledge is typically disseminated. The Writing module will focus on how to develop an argument, and students will learn to clearly convey ideas and convince their audience that their findings are important, innovative, and worthy of attention. The Public Speaking and Engagement module focuses on the dissemination of knowledge to the public. Finally, the Teaching module will provide students with an opportunity to develop their skills for teaching, and in particular how to become a teacherscholar.
